Investigate EvaP Data Representation

Problem Statement

  • The documentation on EvaP's database (PostGres) is limited
  • Team Blue documentation on EvaP's database is also limited
  • To determine whether any changes to the database and representations are necessary, more documentation will be needed

Who will benefit?

  • EvaP Team: Any new documentation can be contributed to their wiki for other users
  • Team Blue: Any members seeking to add new functionality will benefit from a clear understanding of the data representation
  • Course Instructor: Database documentation might be used if this project is adopted for use at Drexel

Proposed solution

  • Download EvaP (use the Vagrant and Docker install method, it's much easier)
  • Refresh on SQL (Specifically PostGres SQL)
  • Use the included sample dataset
  • Consider what differences Drexel might have in how their courses are laid out
  • Record whatever details you find interesting

Deliverable

  • New documents contributed to the Microsoft Teams (OneNote, Word)
  • Drawings, notes, usage logs, or other documents

Priority/Severity

  • High (This will bring a huge increase in performance/productivity/usability/legislative cover)
  • Medium (This will bring a good increase in performance/productivity/usability)
  • Low (anything else e.g., trivial, minor improvements)
